RAPAPORT… Christie’s has appointed Antiques
Roadshow watch expert Michael Fossner to lead its west coast watch
department.
The auctioneer has charged Fossner with leading appraisals while
guiding and growing the company in the region. He is also expected to
work with colleagues in New York and internationally to win new business and
bring key pieces to market.
Fossner, who has appeared on PBS’s Antiques
Roadshow and is an accredited Gemological Institute of America (GIA) jewelry
professional, previously served as consignment director at Heritage Auctions in
New York.
A fifth-generation watch specialist,
Fossner trained in his father’s business, New York’s J & P Timepieces.
