Starboard Cruise Services has appointed jewelry industry veteran Caryl Capeci as a strategic adviser. She will lead the onboard shopping business’s fine-jewelry, luxury and Swiss categories.
Capeci will oversee the LVMH-owned company’s growth strategy and partnership expansion, focusing on revenue performance, operations and customer service, the company said Friday.
“Her expertise in international wholesale, retail and e-commerce will enhance Starboard as the ‘best in class’ cruise travel retail partner,” said Lisa Bauer, president and CEO of Starboard Cruise Services.
Capeci was most recently CEO of Chow Tai Fook North America, the Hong Kong-based company that operates diamond jewelry brands Hearts on Fire and Mémoire. Prior to this position, she held multiple leadership positions at Hearts on Fire before becoming president in 2016. She expanded the business through partnerships with more than 300 jewelry and watch retailers.
Capeci began her career at advertising agencies N.W. Ayer and J. Walter Thompson, where she worked on the De Beers global marketing team for more than a decade. Later, as an executive vice president at Arnold Worldwide, part of the Havas media group, she led the agency team for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises.
She has been on the boards of the American Gem Society (AGS), Diamonds Do Good (DDG), and Jewelers of America (JA), and is a member of the 24 Karat Club of the City of New York.
