Canadian Jewellers Association Reelects Angela Betteridge as Chair

The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) has voted for Angela Betteridge to continue as chair of its board of directors for 2024.

The group reelected the owner of Angela Betteridge Jewellery in Kelowna, British Columbia, at its recent annual general meeting at the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel, it said last month.

The board meeting took place during the inaugural 2023 CJA Industry Summit, which included a full day of education followed by an awards dinner to honor recipients of the Retailer of the Year, Supplier of the Year and the Erol Paylan Lifetime Achievement Award. More than 100 members and industry professionals attended the event.

Other board members elected were:

  • Past chair: Gail Golberg of Custom Creations by GG, Toronto
  • First vice chair: Chau Lui of Paris Jewellers, Edmonton
  • Second vice chair: Kevin Vantyghem of Vantyghem Diamonds, Kitchener
  • Director and executive committee member: Marco Pasteris of Birks Group, Montreal
  • Director: Mark Devereaux, Jewelers Mutual Group, Neenah, Wisconsin
  • Director: Shant Purutoglu of Gem Lab Appraisal Services, Toronto
  • Director: Heather Davis of Stellar Gem Services, Kelowna
  • Director: Justin Opert of Sorbet Sapphire, Thornhill
  • Director: Tom Hart of C.J. Ltd., Dartmouth
  • Director: Eric Senftleben of Citizen Watch Group, Markham
