Brilliant Earth saw a return to profit after its second-quarter sales exceeded expectations, with consumers purchasing higher-value jewelry.

Revenue increased 6% year on year to $115.1 million for the three months that ended June 30, the company said Thursday. Although total orders slipped 2.1%, the average order value grew 8% to $2,238. Profit for the quarter came to $800,000, compared with a loss of $1.1 million during the same period a year ago.

The sales figure surpassed the high end of the company’s guidance for the April-to-June period, it explained.

“We’re thrilled with our second-quarter results, with both net sales and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) well exceeding our guidance range,” said Brilliant Earth CEO Beth Gerstein. “Fine jewelry continues to outperform and drive our intentional diversification beyond bridal.”

Sales for the first half of the year were up 6% to $214.6 million, as average order value increased 6% to $2,187. However, the jeweler posted a loss of $7.6 million for the six months, deeper than the $4.4 million deficit for the first half of 2025.

Despite the loss for the first half, Brilliant Earth still believes the next six months will see growth.

“Given our strong second-quarter performance and confidence in the second half of the year, we are raising our annual profitability guidance,” said chief financial officer Jeff Kuo.

The retailer predicted third-quarter sales would be approximately flat, and EBITDA would be $3 million to $5 million, while revenue for the full year would come to between $459 million and $462 million, it added.
