Bonhams has appointed Janet Lam as its new head of jewelry in Asia, starting immediately.

In her new role, Lam will lead the Bonhams jewelry operations across the region, with a focus on business development and client engagement, the auction house said last week. Lam will be based in Hong Kong, where she will collaborate with the global jewelry team to advance sales initiatives throughout Asia. She will report to Jean Ghika, global head of jewelry at Bonhams.

Lam has over 17 years of experience. Most recently, she served as director and senior specialist at Phillips in Asia, where she co-led major jewelry auctions and built strong relationships with prominent collectors throughout the region. Lam previously held senior roles at major auction houses, including Bonhams Asia, and was head of private clients at contemporary high-jewelry house FORMS.

“We are delighted to welcome [Lam] back to Bonhams in this expanded leadership role,” said Ghika. “Her market insight, breadth of experience, and strong client relationships will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our presence in this significant market.”
