Sotheby’s will showcase a 4.37-carat alexandrite ring at its upcoming Hong Kong jewelry sale, expecting the piece to fetch up to HKD 1.5 million ($191,460).
The ring features a color-changing oval Brazilian alexandrite that shifts between greenish-blue during daylight and purple under incandescent light. It will lead the auction house’s Fine Jewelry sale, which runs from April 15 to 29.
More than 250 lots will be on offer, including jewels from maisons such as Graff, Bulgari and Cartier.
Here are the rest of the top five pieces:

A pair of earrings with pear-shaped Colombian emeralds — one 11.52 carats, the other 13.74 carats — and an estimated 10 carats of pear-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds.

A ring bearing a step-cut, 5.04-carat, D-color, VVS2-clarity diamond with single-cut diamond accents.

A pendant with no reserve price, featuring a 17.80-carat Burmese sapphire in a diamond-set frame.

A Graff necklace with a step-cut diamond center stone and brilliant-cut diamonds, for a total weight of 33 to 35 carats.
