The American Jewelry Design Council (AJDC) has appointed longtime designer and educator Alan Revere as its next president for a one-year term.

Revere is an award-winning jewelry designer and mentored many designers in the industry through the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco from 1979 to 2017. He replaces jewelry designer Paul Klecka as president of the AJDC, the group said last week. Revere previously served in that position in the early 2000s.

The AJDC also elected Adam Neeley as vice president, Merry-Lee Rae as treasurer and Jennifer Rabe Morin as secretary.

Revere is a German-trained master goldsmith, designer, and author of seven books on jewelry. He holds degrees in psychology and sculpture. His Facebook group, Let’s Make Professional Jewelry, has nearly 30,000 members from 162 countries, who replicate projects from his book Professional Jewelry Making.

AJDC is a nonprofit educational corporation that recognizes and promotes the appreciation of original jewelry design as art.
