The American Gem Society (AGS) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) have named Karen Fox and Jenna Siegel as their scholarship recipients.
Fox received the GIA Beatrice Shipley award, AGS said Tuesday. She is a second-generation jeweler and store manager at Fox Fine Jewelry in Ventura, California, where she leads the in-house custom jewelry creations from start to finish. She specializes in custom-made engagement rings and antique replica pieces. The scholarship provides tuition for the GIA Graduate Gemologist program and the AGS Way Course, in addition to registration for the 2026 AGS and GIA Converge conference in California.
“I am thrilled to receive the Beatrice Shipley Scholarship, an incredible honor and a meaningful milestone in my gemological journey as I work toward earning my Graduate Gemologist and Certified Gemologist credentials, said Fox. “Continued education is essential to providing clients with the highest level of expertise, confidence, and service. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to further my education and career with the support of AGS and GIA.”
Siegel of Argo & Lehne Jewelers in Columbus, Ohio, received the AGS Women in Leadership Scholarship. She is new to the jewelry industry and is currently pursuing further studies to become a graduate gemologist. Siegel will receive complimentary registration to Converge 2026, a personalized mentorship experience from AGS, and a $500 gift card.
“I am honored to have been awarded the 2026 Women in Leadership Scholarship,” said Siegel. “This investment in my future will provide valuable learning and growth opportunities. Thank you for supporting the development of my skills and knowledge, which I need to make a greater impact in this field.”
