A ring with a pink diamond weighing 8.55 carats will take center stage at an upcoming jewelry sale at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong, where it is set to fetch up to HKD 5 million ($644,161).
The cushion-shaped, light-pink, VS1-clarity diamond ring will feature in the Fine Jewelry sale, which began on April 17 and will end April 30, according to the auction house. It will be among 229 lots at the sale, which includes a number of diamond and colored-diamond pieces, as well as jadeite, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and other gemstones.
The auction will include jewels by well-known designers such as Bulgari, Cartier, Graff and Harry Winston.

This ring, bearing a step-cut, 5.01-carat, fancy-vivid-yellow, SI2-clarity diamond between two epaulette-shaped diamonds, has a high estimate of HKD 2.8 million ($360,733). A pair of earrings, each featuring a pear-shaped diamond, one a 2.21-carat, very-light-pink, and the other a 2.08-carat, light-pink stone, suspended from pink diamonds weighing 1.02 and 1 carats, is set to fetch up to HKD 2.2 million ($283,443). Sotheby’s will offer these earrings, each containing a jadeite cabochon within a tapered baguette, pear-shaped diamond and onyx-set border. They have an upper price of HKD 2 million ($257,666). A ring sporting an oval, 5.09-carat, E-color, VVS2-clarity diamond solitaire has a top estimate of HKD 1.2 million ($154,600).
