Christie’s is set to offer a blue-diamond ring at its upcoming New York jewelry sale, giving it an estimate of $6 million to $8 million.

The cushion brilliant-cut, 5.72-carat, fancy-intense-blue, VVS1-clarity diamond is potentially internally flawless, Christie’s said Tuesday. It is set to lead the December 10 Magnificent Jewels sale

The sale will also include the largest collection of jewels by Suzanne Belperron ever to appear at auction. The group of 15 jewels includes three pieces from the designer’s personal collection and a bracelet once owned by celebrated Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue editor Diana Vreeland, Christie’s noted.

“This remarkable collection exemplifies the art of jewelry collecting through the discerning eye of an American collector who views jewels as a true form of art,” said Claibourne Poindexter, senior specialist for jewelry at Christie’s. “With a judicious and intentional approach, this collection spans iconic designs across centuries and includes one of the most impressive assemblages of Suzanne Belperron jewels ever to come to auction.”
