Bonhams will showcase a ring centering a yellow diamond weighing 8.22 carats at its upcoming auction in Hong Kong, where it could fetch up to HKD 5 million ($637,297).
The piece features a European-cut, fancy-vivid-yellow, VS1-clarity diamond in a frame of tiered oval-shaped and trilliant-cut diamonds. The European cut often dates back to the late 19th to the early 20th century, making the diamond rare. The ring will go on offer at the November 23 Exceptional Jewels and Jadeite, Hong Kong, auction, Bonhams said Wednesday.
The sale will feature a selection of jewelry with colored gemstones, including rubies, sapphires and fancy-vivid diamonds, alongside signed pieces from famous jewelry houses. The sale is part of the auction house’s global Luxury Week, taking place from November to December in Hong Kong, New York and London.
