A 6.09-carat diamond ring beat estimates at the recent Bonhams California Jewels sale, garnering $240,000.
The marquise-shaped, E-color, VVS2-clarity piece was the top earner at the February 22 Los Angeles event, exceeding its $200,000 high estimate, the auction house said Monday. It was part of a 20-item collection from the estate of Palm Springs, California-based, philanthropist Peggy Cravens. which achieved white-glove results, totaling $405,000.
Overall, 91% of the 241 lots sold, achieving a total of $2.3 million.
