A 20.19-carat, fancy-intense-pink diamond will be the top lot at Phillips’s inaugural Geneva Jewels auction on November 6.
With an estimate of CHF 10 million to CHF 15 million ($11 million to $16.5 million), the cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut, VVS1-clarity gem is the fourth-largest intense-pink diamond ever to appear at auction, according to Benoît Repellin, Phillips’s worldwide head of jewelry.
The 110-lot sale, Geneva Jewels Auction: ONE, will take place at the Swiss city’s Hôtel La Réserve and feature a number of impressive diamonds, as well as a curated selection of untreated colored rubies, emeralds and sapphires.
Among the highlights are pieces by French jewelry houses Fred and Sterlé, a purplish-pink diamond from British jeweler Boodles, and signed items from brands such as Bulgari, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels. Also in the mix are contemporary jewelers Viltier, Dries Criel, Hemmerle, Maison Alix Dumas, Margaret, and Silvia Furmanovich.
