A yellow diamond weighing 14.14 carats will go under the hammer at an upcoming Heritage auction in Dallas, Texas, where it is expected to fetch up to $400,000.

The pear-shaped, fancy-vivid-yellow, VS1 diamond, in an 18-karat gold ring, will lead the May 5 Spring Fine Jewelry Signature Auction, Heritage said last week. The 506-lot sale will showcase a variety of colored stones, including sapphires, Colombian emeralds and Burmese rubies.

In addition to jewelry from designers such as Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Bulgari, the sale will showcase timepieces by Piaget, Schlegel & Plana, and Patek Philippe.
