Market trends stable. Large and high-quality diamonds performing well. 7 to 9.99 ct. diamonds strong. 10 ct. and larger moving, especially in D-flawless. Round, 0.30 to 0.89 ct. stabilizing. Mumbai’s Bharat Diamond Bourse predicts market recovery following temporary Iran ceasefire. Rough dealers expect small De Beers sight next week (Apr. 27-30) as manufacturers defer purchases. Indian factories preparing to close for May summer holidays. Angola 2025 rough production +8% to 15.2M cts. Israel quiet over Memorial Day and Independence Day. Fancies:
Long fancy shapes such as Ovals, Marquises and Emeralds doing better than rounds in 2 ct. and larger. High-quality Marquises, long Radiants and long Cushions in short supply. Marquise most expensive fancy shape. Long Cushions easy to sell and trading at 20% to 25% premium over square ones. Solid US market for elongated Ovals of good shape and quality in D-I, VS-SI categories. Princess cuts weak. Very well-cut fancy shapes difficult to find and commanding premiums. Fancies with bad proportions illiquid.

Belgium
Market still relatively quiet, with little increase in activity following Easter vacation. 2 ct. and larger diamonds in demand, especially in pears and ovals.
Israel
Very little activity during week of national holidays.
India
Market split clear, with 2 ct. and larger seeing positive movement. US demand supporting trade. Polished manufacturing down due to rough shortages, supporting prices. Cutters shifting to large stones. Activity slowing ahead of May summer vacation. Domestic sales steady.
Hong Kong
Chinese consumer market slow. Many customers shifting from diamonds to colored gemstones, gold, and synthetic diamonds. Best market for naturals is 3 to 5 ct., D-G, IF-VVS goods with GIA reports.
