A 45.07-carat yellow diamond will head up the upcoming 125-lot jewelry sale at Phillips, where it will be among a number of rare colored diamonds.
The square emerald-cut, fancy-vivid-yellow, VS1-clarity diamond is expected to fetch between $2.8 million and $3.5 million at the June 12 New York Jewels sale, Phillips said last week. Along with that gem, the auction house will offer a cushion modified brilliant-cut, 4.01-carat, fancy-intense-green diamond with a high estimate of $350,000.
Also on the auction block will be a Cartier ring with a pear brilliant-cut, 3.07-carat, light-blue, VS2 diamond between two tapered baguette diamonds, boasting a price range of $200,000 to $300,000. An oval modified brilliant-cut, 4.16-carat, fancy-pink-brown, internally flawless diamond with an estimate of $120,000 to $160,000 is for sale as well.
Other notable items include an oval brilliant-cut, 7.12-carat, F-color, VVS2 diamond on a ring by Harry Winston, and a pair of ear clips featuring marquise-, pear- and oval-shaped diamonds. Both lots have a high estimate of $220,000.
“We are excited to present such a strong offering in our upcoming New York sale, which takes place on the heels of our second successful season in Geneva,” said Eva Violante, head of jewels for the Americas at Phillips. “There has been a clear demand for exceptional jewels and gemstones that span the century, evidenced by the strong results in both Geneva and Hong Kong, as well as the enthusiasm we have seen across the globe during our international tour.”
