Raluca Anghel is stepping down as head of external affairs and industry relations at The Diamond Collective.
Anghel will be leaving the organization, formerly the Natural Diamond Council (NDC), after seven years in the position, according to a LinkedIn post. In her role, she led the Assure program to develop diamond-verification instrument testing and introduced a series of diamond reports to give the media and trade a common, evidence-based perspective.
Anghel also worked to establish legislative frameworks and industry standards that accurately represent diamonds and help consumers make informed purchasing decisions. Together with colleagues and industry partners, she successfully spearheaded investigations into advertising claims across key markets, including the US, India and Europe, Anghel said.
Anghel represented The Diamond Collective at the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and European Federation of Jewellery, working alongside industry peers to strengthen and protect the jewelry sector.
She did not disclose what her next role would be.
