The Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) is collaborating with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) to combine watchmaking education with gem-and-jewelry studies.
GIA will offer FHH Academy programs to students across its international campuses and online, the FHH said last week. These will launch at the start of 2027 with the Watch Advisor, the academy’s entry-level certification, along with open sessions led by an experienced tutor. The FHH marked its 20th anniversary last year by focusing on wider access to watchmaking knowledge.
FHH Academy programs and certifications cover watchmaking fundamentals, culture and heritage, as well as advanced technical courses for industry professionals and enthusiasts. Since it began, the academy has trained students across 20 countries, establishing a global platform for horological education. GIA has institutes across seven campuses in the US, Europe and Asia.
The two organizations share a long-standing commitment to education and specialist knowledge, helping introduce watchmaking to audiences beyond the traditional industry.
