A Patek Philippe watch from 1945 will be among the highlights at an upcoming Phillips auction in Geneva.
The timepiece has a silver-toned dial with steel hour markers and a tachymeter scale, and features a split-second chronograph. It has an upper estimate of CHF 4 million ($4.9 million) at the November 7 to 8 Geneva Watch Auction: XXIV, Phillips said Tuesday.
Other notable lots are an F.P. Journe wristwatch with a shiny pink-gold dial and a hand-engraved geometric pattern. The piece has a CHF 1 million to CHF 2 million ($1.2 million to $2.4 million) price range. A Rolex Daytona timepiece has an upper estimate of CHF 1.6 million ($2 million). It pairs a yellow-gold case with a contrasting black Paul Newman dial. The bracelet carries a V.C.A stamp, most likely corresponding to Van Cleef & Arpels.
Another Rolex watch, circa 1952, features the coveted “Stelline” dial, named after its eight star-shaped hour markers, as well as a triple calendar and a moon-phase display. The piece has high price of CHF 1.2 million ($1.5 million). An F.P. Journe timepiece created in 2007 to mark the second anniversary of the watchmaker’s Tokyo boutique bears a ruthenium-coated dial set against pink gold crowns and hands, and an upper estimate of CHF 800,000 ($976,715). Inside is a hand-wound pink-gold caliber that allows for two independent time displays.
The sale, featuring more than 200 timepieces, will mark the opening of the fall 2026 live auction season, which Phillips will hold in association with Bacs & Russo.
