Glory to the Gemstone

As fashion sizzles in a joyous burst of vibrant colors juxtaposed by black and white, colored gemstones are moving into the spotlight. The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) hosted the 31st annual Spectrum Awards 2015 design competition where designers showcase colored gemstones and lapidaries feature the art of the well-cut jewel. The winning pieces — and all the other entries to the competition — were on display for editors and stylists during an event held in New York City in a penthouse photo studio filled with light, which emphasized the beauty of the gems.
