Regulator Halts BlueRock Mining Operations

RAPAPORT…
South Africa’s Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) has
suspended operations at BlueRock Diamonds’ Kareevlei mine after a machinery accident.

The mining regulator issued a formal complaint regarding BlueRock’s use of its trackless mining machines, the
company said last week.

BlueRock, which has since met with the DMR to discuss the
matter, is in the process of amending its code of practice to comply with the
regulator’s standards, it said. The miner predicted the suspension would end shortly.

The suspension is not likely to have an impact on
production for the year, the company added.
