RAPAPORT… The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) has appointed Eyal Shirazy as executive director of trading website Get Diamonds.
Shirazy joins the business-to-business (B2B) platform from his role as chief digital officer at Shlomo Sixt Group, an Israeli company spanning the investment, automotive and insurance industries, the WFDB said last week.
The WFDB adopted Get Diamonds as its official trading platform in April 2020. It has pledged to invest the profits in projects that benefit the industry, including generic diamond marketing. The site lists more than 1.6 million diamonds from 4,600 vendors, with a total value of over $6.6 billion, the federation said.
“I am excited to join this industry, [which] is hungry for digital change,” Shirazy commented. “My goal is to make Get Diamonds the primary platform for large and small businesses [and] to provide all of the easy-to-use tools that will make Get a one-stop shop.”
