Industry Leaders Debate Social Responsibility at Rapaport Conference
Leaders from across the diamond and jewelry industry gathered at the Rapaport Social Responsibility Conference to discuss key issues in ethics and transparency.
Rapaport Chairman Martin Rapaport led the debate, which took place last Sunday at the 2023 JCK Las Vegas show. Among the participants were David Bouffard, vice president of corporate affairs at Signet Jewelers and chair of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC); Iris Van der Veken, executive director of the Watch & Jewellery Initiative (WJI) 2030; and David Block, CEO of Sarine Technologies.
Topics included Russian goods, diamond tracking, the viability of origin hallmarks, and how to communicate provenance to consumers.
