A 12.46-carat diamond ring led Doyle’s New York sale, where it beat its high estimate to sell for $457,700.
The piece, centering a cut-cornered step-cut emerald-cut, D-color, VS2-clarity diamond between tapered baguette diamonds, had a $350,000 high price. It was among the top lots at the recent Important Jewelry sale, according to Doyle’s website.
In total, the sale garnered more than $8 million, with several jewels selling above their top estimates. Lots from famous designers such as Tiffany & Co., JAR, and Cartier, as well as colored gemstones and pieces from a New York philanthropist’s collection, also found buyers.

Estimate: $80,000 to $120,000
A JAR ring circa 1980 bears a cushion modified brilliant-cut, 5.78-carat, G, VS2 diamond with pavé-set round diamonds.
Estimate: $30,000 to $50,000
A pair of antique earrings from 1890, one sporting an oval, 4-carat Ceylon sapphire and the other an oval, 4.17- carat Kashmir sapphire, each in a surround of 10 old-mine diamonds.
Estimate: $50,000 to $70,000
This Cartier gold and diamond Mahango Panthère necklace features more than 500 round diamonds weighing approximately 30 carats.
Estimate: $100,000 to $150,000
A Tiffany & Co. Fleurage bracelet is designed as flowers and leaves. Eight round diamonds, weighing a combined 10.80 carats, form the center of the flowers, while 439 small round diamonds, totaling 25 carats, adorn the petals and leaves.
