Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) has appointed former World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) president Yoram Dvash as chairman of its board of directors.
Dvash, who was at the helm of the WFDB from 2020 until he stepped down two months ago, was also previously chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) and of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE). He joined ODC along with several other newly appointed board members, the company said Wednesday in a LinkedIn post.
“Dvash brings extensive experience in the global diamond industry and will work closely with the board, management and the government of Botswana to strengthen ODC’s profitability, expand its global reach and create greater long-term value for the people of Botswana,” the company shared in the notice.
Dvash succeeds Gape Kaboyakgosi, who left ODC in November after five years as the head of its board.
“Honored to take on this responsibility and grateful for the trust placed in me,” Dvash said in his own LinkedIn post. I look forward to working with the board, management and the government of Botswana to help take ODC to greater heights.”
