Walk into M&V Vanguard Jewelry in New York City’s Diamond District and you’ll find more than a jewelry workshop – you’ll witness craftsmanship in motion. Designers collaborate with master jewelers, CAD designs become finished masterpieces, and every step of production happens under one roof. From design and casting to stone setting, engraving, polishing, and quality control, every piece is proudly made in-house.
M&V Vanguard is a true family business, founded by father and son Victor and Max Bartashnik. After immigrating from Ukraine, Victor arrived in America with decades of experience as a master jeweler and a determination to build a better future for his family. Jewelry was more than his profession – it was his life’s passion.
Growing up beside his father at the workbench, Max learned the importance of precision, integrity, and uncompromising quality. Those lessons became the foundation of M&V Vanguard. Together, they built the company on one simple principle: Never compromise on craftsmanship.
Rather than outsourcing production overseas, they invested in creating a fully integrated manufacturing facility in the heart of Manhattan. Today every piece is completed in-house:
- CAD Design
- 3D Modeling
- Casting
- Assembly
- Wire Pulling
- Pre-Polishing
- Stone Setting
- Hand Engraving
- Final Polishing
- Quality Control
Because every department works together under one roof, M&V Vanguard offers something that has become increasingly rare in today’s jewelry industry – exceptional quality combined with remarkably fast turnaround times.
Many manufacturers send work to multiple vendors and outside factories. M&V Vanguard doesn’t.
That allows the company to move quickly without sacrificing quality, giving clients a level of service few others on 47th Street can match.
M&V Vanguard partners with retailers, designers, and entrepreneurs to bring jewelry collections to life. Whether developing a custom engagement ring, a high-jewelry masterpiece, or an entire private-label collection, clients benefit from a seamless process backed by expert craftsmanship.
Like many family-owned businesses, Max and Victor reinvested nearly every dollar back into the company, expanding technology, equipment, and manufacturing capabilities instead of taking shortcuts. Today, M&V Vanguard produces everything from GIA-certified diamond jewelry and fancy-yellow diamond creations to one-of-a-kind bespoke designs for clients around the world.
The company faced its greatest challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Victor passed away. Although his loss was deeply felt, his values continue to shape every piece created within the workshop. Today, Max serves as President, carrying forward the vision he built alongside his father. Recently, a third generation joined the business as Max’s daughter, Angelina, began working alongside him, continuing the family’s tradition of excellence.
M&V Vanguard also takes great pride in the people behind its success. Having experienced the immigrant journey firsthand, Max has built a company that provides opportunities to talented craftsmen and -women from Ukraine and around the world.
In an industry increasingly driven by outsourcing and mass production, M&V Vanguard remains committed to doing things differently. Every ring, bracelet, necklace, and custom creation is handcrafted with care, integrity, and pride. More than beautiful jewelry, each piece represents a promise – to honor Victor’s legacy, uphold uncompromising craftsmanship, and help clients build extraordinary collections while pursuing the American dream, one handcrafted piece at a time.
