Spinelli Kilcollin Has Landed in London with a New Flagship

Famous for its linked rings, the Los Angeles-based jeweler is taking its modular designs and vision of connectedness overseas.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Californian jewelry brand Spinelli Kilcollin. Known for its sculptural, modernist designs with a rock ’n’ roll sensibility, the jeweler is celebrating the occasion with a new flagship store in London’s Mayfair district.

The British capital has always been “a vital part of our journey,” says Yves Spinelli, who cofounded the brand with partner Dwyer Kilcollin. “Opening a store here allows us to engage with our loyal clients more personally and to offer new experiences — from bespoke design consultations to private events — while connecting our Los Angeles and New York roots to an international audience.”

Garage bands

Despite having no previous jewelry experience, Spinelli and Kilcollin started the brand in their Los Angeles garage studio back in 2010.

“We wanted to work for ourselves and make jewelry we loved to wear,” explains Spinelli. “We didn’t have backgrounds in jewelry, but we designed a connected ring that we each wore every day, and it was unlike anything else on the market. Strangers would approach us, asking to buy one for themselves, and we figured that if we could sell our designs effortlessly, imagine what we could do if we created more jewelry.”

They named that connected, multi-loop ring the Galaxy, and it became the cornerstone of Spinelli Kilcollin. It now comes in numerous iterations with different metals, diamonds, and gemstones such as sapphires and emeralds. The linked motif has also translated to earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

“The Galaxy ring is where we began,” says Spinelli. “The interconnected bands introduced our language of connection, balance and purpose. Small changes and subtle details shape each piece’s personality, but it remains an ongoing exploration.”

In sync with the customer

This ethos of connection is at the heart of Spinelli Kilcollin, and it’s what has allowed the brand to reach its now-global audience, its founders say. The everyday wearability of its designs has undoubtedly helped; the brand creates minimalist, modern pieces that can go with a T-shirt and jeans and aren’t just for special occasions. They also seem to appeal equally to both men and women, reflecting the emerging customer desire for gender-neutral jewelry.

“Our linked rings introduced a different way to wear fine jewelry: modular, kinetic and adaptable,” says Spinelli. “What distinguishes Spinelli Kilcollin is how the pieces evolve with the wearer: stacking, adapting, and becoming part of their daily life.”

Inside the store

The new London flagship, which opened in November, follows in the footsteps of the brand’s Los Angeles and New York stores, both of which launched in 2024. It occupies a private Georgian townhouse on Brook Street, with an interior that sets cast aluminum and angular mirrors alongside the building’s original molding and skirting to create a conversation between time periods and design codes.

Although the brand has been available at London-based luxury retailer Dover Street Market since 2014, this is the first time customers can view its full collection in London. They’ll also have the opportunity to work with Spinelli Kilcollin’s design team on bespoke pieces, which, like the rest of the collection, its artisans will then create in downtown LA.

“The magic of our stores is seeing how clients interact with the jewelry,” says Spinelli. “It’s a moment of connection, understanding and discovery. From our first garage studio to three stores across the world in one year, it’s remarkable to see the brand grow while staying true to our values.”
