Sarine Technologies has appointed Avi Levy as chief growth officer of GCAL by Sarine, tasking him with expanding the company’s presence across North America.

Levy, who left his position as president of North America for the International Gemological Institute (IGI) in July after five years with the company, has more than 30 years of experience in the diamond and jewelry sector, Sarine said Monday. In his new role, Levy will lead growth initiatives in North America and international markets, focusing on expanding retail and brand relationships, and scaling operations.

“[Levy’s] industry knowledge, leadership and relationships make him an ideal fit as we expand our impact in the US and global markets,” said GCAL by Sarine president Angelo Palmieri. “He shares our core values — accuracy, transparency, and independence — and will play a key role in delivering value to retailers and consumers alike.”

Levy also serves on the boards of Diamonds Do Good (DDG) and Mercury Free Mining (MFM), Sarine added. He starts his new role this month.
