The 10th edition of GemGenève attracted the highest number of participants since the Swiss show launched in 2018.
The event took place in Geneva between May 7 and 10, drawing more than 5,300 visitors from 109 different countries, GemGenève said Tuesday. The show drew participants of various ages with an interest in many aspects of the jewelry world. The uptick in foot traffic came amid geopolitical tensions and market challenges, the organizers observed. Topping the nationalities were attendees from Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium, the UK and the US.
Three new designers and five emerging talents exhibited at the Designers’ Village, which included a contemporary section. Also noteworthy was interest in non-treated gemstones such as Colombian emeralds, Kashmir sapphires and Mozambique rubies, signifying increased demand for these gems, organizers added.
“We’ve had excellent feedback from the exhibitors,” said GemGenève cofounder Ronny Totah. “Traders, dealers, emerging artists and artisans in attendance to present their knowhow have all praised the good-quality discussions and unusually high levels of energy at the show, in an environment that’s proved to be especially good for sealing deals.”
The next GemGenève show will occur from May 11 to 14, 2027.
