HRD Antwerp has introduced internationally recognized diamond, gemology and jewelry education programs in Mumbai.
The inauguration coincided with the first official visit to India by HRD Antwerp CEO Paul De Wachter. The executive met with Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) vice president Mehul Shah, underscoring the strategic importance of the Indian market to the organization, it said Tuesday. The event reflected the strong engagement of the company’s global leadership in its India operations, HRD added.
The courses will run from the company’s education facility in Mumbai, offering the opportunity for Indian students, retailers, entrepreneurs and professionals to gain access to globally recognized training and learning.
The program covers subjects from diamond grading and gemology to lab-grown diamonds and jewelry market dynamics, combining scientific foundations with real-world industry applications, HRD said. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an HRD Antwerp diploma, which the organization said would be recognized across the international diamond sector.
“India plays a central role in the global diamond and jewelry industry,” De Wachter commented. “By introducing HRD Antwerp’s education programs in India, we aim to support the development of skilled professionals who meet the highest international standards, strengthening trust and professionalism across the value chain.”
