All of the top 10 lots exceeded their high estimates at the most recent Sotheby’s jewelry auction, which took place in Milan.
The top lot, a ring featuring a marquise-shaped, 8.92-carat, E-color, VVS2-clarity diamond, sold for EUR 254,000 ($295,127), more than double its high price. It led the October 9 to 23 Fine Jewelry & Watches sale, according to the auction house’s website.
Overall, the sale garnered EUR 6 million ($7 million), with several lots the handiwork of famous jewelry houses such as Cartier, Bulgari and Boucheron.
