A recent online auction at Christie’s made a splash as a large proportion of lots on offer, including the entire top 10, surpassed their high estimates.

The highest-performing item at the Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels online auction was a Harry Winston ring with a pear brilliant-cut, 9.73-carat, D-color, SI1-clarity diamond center stone and tapered baguette-cut side stones. It sold for HKD 2 million ($259,288), well above its HKD 850,000 ($109,323) upper price at the auction, which ran from October 23 to November 6, according to Christie’s

In total, the sale brought in HKD 31 million ($4 million). Many pieces from well-known design houses, including Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, Mauboussin, and Cartier, also found buyers.

Here are the rest of the lots that made the top 10:

A suite of four jewels that comprises a necklace, a bracelet, a ring and earrings featuring a total of 20 antique cushion-cut sapphires, as well as diamonds, scored HKD 1.1 million ($137,742), more than double its HKD 500,000 ($64,301) high estimate.
This pair of earrings contains two heart brilliant-cut, I-color, VS2-clarity diamonds weighing 5.50 and 5.01 carats. It sailed past its HKD 600,000 ($77,162) top price to garner HKD 945,000 ($121,531).

A ring bearing an oval-cut, 9.03-carat Mozambican ruby surrounded by diamonds inched past its HKD 800,000 ($102,882) upper price to achieve HKD 882,000 ($113,428).
Oval-cut Burmese sapphires weighing 7.79 and 7.67 carats combine with diamonds in these earrings, which made HKD 882,000 ($113,428) against a high estimate of HKD 850,000 ($109,312).
This ring has a cut-cornered square modified brilliant-cut, 7.52-carat, fancy-intense-yellow, VS1-clarity diamond. It smashed its HKD 300,000 to HKD 500,000 ($38,580 to $64,301) estimate to bring in HKD 882,000 ($113,422).
