A 66.40-carat, fancy-orange-brown diamond pendant was one of a number of pieces at the recent Christie’s sale in London to fetch several times their high estimates.
The jewel features a briolette-cut, I1-clarity, type IIa diamond as well as circular-cut white diamond. It more than doubled its GBP 150,000 ($200,121) upper price to bring in GBP 355,600 ($474,419) at the June 5 London Jewels sale, according to the Christie’s website.
In total, the sale raked in GBP 7.1 million ($9.4 million), selling over 190 lots. Jewels from famous design houses such as Cartier, Bulgari and Graff found buyers.
