The Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF) has launched an in-depth online training course for retailers to guide them toward successful colored-diamond sales.
The “Winning Strategies for Color Diamond Professionals” classes will begin next week, the organization said Tuesday. The sessions cover the “inner grade, dispersion, and undertone” (IDU) grading standard, used to assess a color diamond’s beauty. Participants will also learn about the three visual factors that influence value and their use in sales conversations, as well as how to discuss rarity using precise terminology, interpret a diamond’s price history, and assess the visual presence of a colored diamond relative to colorless stones.
The free master classes are on-demand sessions that currently include 14 episodes. They are available to all professionals.
Correction, December 10, 2025: IDU stands for inner grade, dispersion and undertone, and not as stated in an earlier version of this story.
